At Woodstock it is important to us that all pupils have the opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom and practise the skills that they have learned in school. This will give pupils more opportunities to progress and reach their potential!

2024/25

Homework Club

Woodstock is launching a weekly Homework Club which will run all year round for any pupils who wish to come and complete their Home Prep during this time. We will let you know the day of the club in the new academic year.

Early Years and Year 1

At Woodstock we know that our younger pupils love taking part in activities and challenges at home with their families.

Pupils in Foundation and Year 1 will have the chance to show off their skills at home in a 'Home Challenge'.

Every 2 weeks pupils will be given a Home Challenge related to the topic that they have been learning about in class. The home challenge will be shared in a book that each pupil will bring home and they will return the book within 2 weeks, once they have had a go at the challenge!

Examples of a Home Challenge include:

  • creating something
  • going on a nature walk
  • taking photographs of a trip they have been on

We can’t wait to see some of the amazing things the children will be doing!

Years 2,3,4,5 and 6

All pupils in Years 2-6 will complete ‘Home Prep’. This will involve all pupils having their own Home Prep book containing the activities they are asked to do each week.

All pupils will be expected to continue to read at least 3 times a week to someone at home and continue to learn their weekly spellings.
